David Wayne Petrea,

David Wayne Petrea, age 50, of Claremont passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Catawba Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born on, Tuesday, April 13, 1965 in Prince George, Maryland to the late Harry Lee Petrea Sr. and Frances Enlow Petrea, who survives. David was a supervisor at Pierre Foods, in Claremont, loved fishing, gardening, and was an absolutely amazing cook. He was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by; one brother, Harry Lee Petrea Jr. "HL"

In addition to his mother he is survived by one son, Corey Petrea, who serves in the US Army, one sister, Kimberly "Kim" Hefner and husband Randy, of Taylorsville, one brother, Jessie Petrea and wife Tori, of Granite Falls, four nieces, and one nephew.

Visitation will be held on, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 3:00-4:00 pm, at Antioch Baptist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 pm. The Rev. Mark Morris will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers include; Glenn Ammons, Rick Benfield, Tony Teague, Trent Craig, Lynn Smith, and Mike Johnson.
