David Wilbur Webb, age 81, or Taylorsville, passed away in Trinity Village Nursing in Hickory on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Born on Feb. 8, 1937, to the late David Orlando and Nancy Drucella McCarter Webb, in Forest City, NC, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded by sisters: Florene Ruff, Nancy Ruth Paul, Madge Goforth, and Roxanne Waters, and one brother, Phil Webb. David’s wife, Martha Ann Bridges Webb, preceded him as well. Mr. Webb was an experienced auto mechanic, having operated Taylorsville Radiator Repair, “The Best Place to Take a Leak.” He was an avid fisherman, loved raising flowers, and was known as a hard worker.
Survivors include his two sons Darren Webb & wife Wendy of N. Wilkesboro and Brent Webb & wife Ruthie of Taylorsville. One grandchild Montana Webb of Taylorsville. David has one brother, Clyde Webb, of Crossville, TN.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, evening July 3, at Little River Baptist Church from 5-6 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by DAV Chapters 84, of Taylorsville and 6 of Hudson. Deacons of Little River Baptist Church will serve as Pall Bearers.
