Debra Burgess Harringon,

Debra Jean Burgess Harrington, age 50, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday afternoon, August 21st, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.  Debra was born in Alexander County on April 7th, 1961 to parents Lewis Winfield and Vina Lucille Wallace Burgess.  She married Ricky Gene Harrington on June 16th, 1979.  Debra was a carousel enthusiast and enjoyed seeing and collecting all-things-carousel.  Also, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Debra liked reading and really enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles.  She was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her niece, Amanda Burgess.  Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 32 years, Ricky Gene Harrington of the home; their 2 sons: Byron Harrington and wife Elizabeth of Taylorsville, and Phillip Harrington of the home.  She also leaves behind 2 grandchildren: Hannah and Elijah Harrington – both of Taylorsville; her brother, James Burgess and wife Jackie of Stony Point; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Kim Linney Wilson and husband Robert of Granite Falls.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 atEastTaylorsvilleBaptistChurch from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.  The funeral service will follow at 4:30 at the church with Rev. Jamie Steele and Rev. Cliff Gwaltney officiating.  Burial will follow in thePleasant HillBaptistChurchCemetery.  Ethan Burgess, Joe Stewart, Michael Stewart, Heath Dagenhart, Hunter Dagenhart, and David Moose will serve as pallbearers.  Employees of Harrington Inc.: Mark Bumgarner, Kyle Chapman, Koty Wheeler, Bruce Bacon, and Jessica Elmore will serve as honoraries.   In addition to flowers, memorial may be made to the American Diabetic Association in Debra’s memory at: Debra Harrington Memorial Donation.  American Diabetic Assoc. 1701 North Beauregard Street,AlexandriaVA,22311.   Alexander Funeral Service of Taylorsville has been entrusted with arrangements.
