Debra Jones Stevenson,

Debra J. Stevenson, age 58, of Hiddenite, passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 at her residence.  She was born on September 26th, 1953 in Florence, SC to parents Joseph "Joe" and Inez McCutchine Jones.  Debra was a Teacher's Assistant in the Alexander County School system and was obtaining a Teaching Degree at CVCC.  She was a faithful member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church where she was involved in assisting with Wednesday Night Children's Ministries.  She enjoyed participating in Angel Food Ministries, the Extension Homemakers Club,  Band Boosters, and the ACHS Cougar Club.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Walter McCutchine and William Jones; sister, Faye Miller, and 1 daughter: Erika Nicole Stevenson.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Darrell Lynn Stevenson Sr.; daughter, Kristina Stevenson Miller & husband John; 2 sons: Darrell Lynn Stevenson Jr. and wife Tiffany, and Zachary Aaron Stevenson; 2 step-sons: Jason Matthew Stevenson and wife Shae, and Gregory Allan Stevenson; and 1 sister: Linda Kay Ward and husband Larry. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Nicole, Christian & Jonlyn Miller, Cole Herman, and Raegan and Ryleigh Stevenson; and 1 step-granddaughter, Sam Stevenson. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27th, from 6-8:00 P.M. at East Taylorsville Baptist Church.  Service will follow on Saturday, January 28th, at East Taylorsville Baptist at 3:00 P.M. where Rev. Jamie Steele and Rev. Mark Marshall will officiate.  Burial will follow in Hiddenite Cemetery. In addition to flowers, memorial may be made to the East Taylorsville Baptist Church Building Fund @ 644 1st Avenue Drive SE, Taylorsville NC 28681.  Jeff Fairchild, Tom Harper, Terry Grammer, Mark Satterfield, and the deacons of East Taylorsville Baptist will serve as pallbearers.    Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
