Delbert Joe "Red" Sutton, age 48, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence unexpectedly. He was born in Caldwell County on March 17, 1966 to Linda Alice Wright Campbell. Red was employed as a carpenter at Joe Ward Construction and he was of the Baptist faith. He loved hunting, fishing, Nascar, and construction work. Red was known as a great cook and he was an avid Duke fan. He was preceded in death by an infant brother: Roger Franklin Sutton; grandparents: Marion L. Wright and Alice E. Wright Carlton, and Hilyard and Naomi Sutton; and stepfather: Jim Campbell. Those left to cherish his memory include spouse, Elizabeth Herman Sutton of the home; son: Andy and wife Tonya Watson of Claremont; mother: Linda Alice Wright Campbell; sisters: Angie Kluttz and husband Brian of Lenoir, and Carol Hamby and husband Chris of Hudson; brother: Tim Sutton and wife Crystal of Morganton; a number of nieces and nephews; grandchildren: Celeste Rae Watson, Casey Beason, and Alethia Miller; several aunts and uncles; and man's best friend, "Buddy".
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service with the service following at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Shook officiating. Place of rest will be inurnment with family.
