Delores "Candy" Louise Flowers Parsons

Delores “Candy” Louise Flowers Parsons, age 64, of Taylorsville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at her cousins’ residence Martha Richardson. She was born on December 5, 1953, in Iredell County to the late Rev. Harrison and Mazo Rowe Linney Flowers. Candy worked in the medical field as a CNA and attended Love & Unity Resurrection Church. She had such a special love for her family and helping others. Candy also loved to sing gospel music, going walking and trips shopping. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Matthew Parsons; brother Billy Ray Morrison; sisters Veronica Gaither & Debra Morrison; and grandson Justin Parsons.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Victoria Louise Parsons of IL; son James Matthew Parsons of Taylorsville; two adopted daughters Sheree D. McWhorter of North Wilkesboro and Missty D. Chattmon of IN; adopted son Mark Anthony McWhorter, Jr., of North Wilkesboro; aunt Ms. Joyce Brown of Statesville; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; along with a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A wake will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and the funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:30. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
