Dennis Kay Presnell, age 65, of Taylorsville and Green Mountain, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin, TN. He was born July 15, 1946, to the late Hyder and Geneva Peterson Presnell. He was a truck driver for Clayton-Marcus and attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He served in the Vietnam war and was honorable discharged with two purple hearts. He enjoyed watching Nascar and was also an avid collector. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one infant brother, Ford Presnell. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Kale Presnell of the home; a stepson, Scott Kale, of Claremont; Two brothers, Kenneth Presnell and wife Helen, of Conover and Darrell Presnell and wife Laura, of Taylorsville; Two grandsons, Derek and Logan Kale, of Claremont; three nephews, Mark, Jon and Cory Presnell of Taylorsville; two nieces, Melissa Henderson, of Stony Point and Angela Dorton, of Concord. He also had a first cousin, who was like a brother to him, Wayne Elrod, of Johnson City, TN. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm and service will follow at 3:30 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Tony Dyson and Rev. Paul Allen Fox will be officiating.
