Dennis Ralph Sigmon

Dennis Ralph Sigmon, age 73 of Taylorsville passed away on Thursday evening, May 20, 2021 at Carolina Caring in Newton, NC. after a period of declining health. Dennis was born on August 4th, 1947 to the late Ralph and Ruby Johnson Sigmon in Alexander County. Dennis worked in the furniture industry, he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, was a charter member and served every position but the Chief of the Bethlehem Fire and Rescue where he served for over fifty years.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth Sigmon, and two brothers, Fred and Glenn Sigmon.

Those left to cherish and celebrate the life of Dennis include
his wife of fifty-three years, Nina Ruth Pennell Sigmon, son Douglas R. Sigmon, daughter,
Dawn McCoy (Sidney II), sister, Lois Teague (Bill), four grandchildren, DJ Sigmon, Shyann Sigmon, Sidney III, and Ashleigh Waugh, three great-grandchildren Mason Waugh and Brealyn McCoy Waugh, and Ainsley Waugh.

Mr. Sigmon’s body will Lie-in-State at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dean Chambers will officiate.

The family request that memorials be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
