Dimple Jean DeHart Blankenship, age 84, of Delbarton, WV, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Dimple was born to the late Forest and Dora Jacobs Dehart on May 29, 1931 in Pike County, KY. Dimple was a member of the First Baptist Church of Varney ,WV. She was a Preschool Sunday School teacher for 20 plus years. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Joy Circle where she served as president and treasurer for many years. Dimple was a very loving wife and mother. In addition to her parents Dimple was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Julius "Johnny" Blankenship and eight siblings.

Dimple leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Vivian Leigh Blankenship Booth & husband Robert of Poca, WV and Gina Kay Honosky & husband Woody of Taylorsville, NC; son John Paul Blankenship & wife Dolly of Pikeville, KY, sister Inez "Boots" Cardinale of Scottsdale, AZ, five grandsons: J.P., Adam, Seth, & Marcus Blankenship, and Ethan Honosky; one great granddaughter Lahna Blankenship, a host of nieces & nephews, and a number of young people who frequented her home & cared for her deeply.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Chafin Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Bill Snodgrass will be officiating the service. Burial will take place in the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, KY. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. The family requests that in addition to flowers that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of  Varney, WV PO Box 281 Varney, WV 25696
