Donald J Heater, age 89, of the Bethlehem community, passed away on Friday morning, November 26th, 2010. He was born on July 5th, 1921 in Newton County, Indiana to parents Guy Solomon Heater and Julia Bridegroom Heater. He was a member of Brown Street United Methodist Church of Lafayette, Indiana Donald served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. during WWII, and was a member of the both the Wolcott Free and Accepted Masons at lodge #180, and the Monticello Legion Post 81. He worked for Coca Cola Bottlers for 36 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 40 years, Norma Benner Heater; as well as 2 brothers: Cecil G. Heater, and Robert Heater; and 2 sisters: Fern H. Pearson, and Olive H. Whipple. Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters: Dr. Julia and husband David Lohrman of Bethlehem, and Paula Denton of Roanoke, VA. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Robert E. Denton III of Newport News, VA, Donald (Chris) Denton of Emery, VA; and Evan D. Lohrman of Bethlehem; special caregiver: Brenda Eskridge of Hickory; and a host of nieces and nephews. No formal services are being held at this time, and interment will be in the future in Riverview Cemetery in Monticello, Indiana. Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
