Donna Elenora Lackey-Little

Donna Elenora Lackey-Little, age 67, passed away peacefully at her home in Alexander County on Sunday, October 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication for her family. She was born on Monday, January 14, 1957, in Iredell County.

Before retiring Donna worked diligently as a fabric cutter for Williams-Sonoma and worked part time as a real estate agent, where she exhibited unwavering commitment and professional integrity. Beyond her career, she was deeply passionate about her family, cherishing the moments spent with her grandchildren, which brought her immense joy and satisfaction. Her warmth and love for family stood as the cornerstone of her character. 

Donna enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She found great pleasure in watching western movies, cooking delightful meals for her loved ones, and traveling to explore new places. Her adventurous spirit and heartwarming demeanor enriched the lives of those around her. Donna was a long-time member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and helped with The Good News Club.

A proud veteran, Donna served in the North Carolina National Guard, embodying a sense of duty and commitment that she carried throughout her life.

Donna is survived by her husband of 39 years, Phil Little, and her loving children, including daughters Lorraine Jones (Kyle), Joni Johnson (Josh), and Savannah Little, and son Daniel Little (Laney). She was also a cherished grandmother to Micah Jones, Hattie Jones, Eleora Jones, Benjamin Jones, Theodore Jones, Harmony Little, Emmary Pinnix, and David Little. Her legacy will continue to thrive through them. Donna is also remembered by her siblings, Debbie Burgess, Dale Lackey Jr., Renee Morron, Lynn Moore, Darlene Hall, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members that will forever hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Delbert Lackey Sr. and Dessie Elenora Sellers Lackey, who provided the foundation of love and support that continued to inspire her throughout her life.

A visitation to honor Donna will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kevin White will officiate.

Donna Lackey-Little will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will be cherished forever.
