Doris Loretta Killian Lail

Doris Loretta Killian Lail, age 76, born on October 13, 1948, in Catawba County, NC, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in her beloved hometown. A dedicated leather marker throughout her career, Doris exemplified dedication and craftsmanship that marked her life's work.

 Doris was not only known for her commitment to her career but also for the warmth she extended to everyone around her. Her caring nature endeared her to family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Doris had a profound love for cooking, shopping, and spending quality time with her cherished grandpups. One of her fondest memories included joyful camping trips at the beach, where laughter and relaxation were plentiful.

Doris leaves behind a loving family; she is survived by her daughter, DeAnn Lail Barnes (Chris), her sisters Karen Smith and Patricia Oliver, and her brothers Donald Killian Jr. and Kelly Killian. 

 She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Johnny Lail, her parents, D.L. Killian Sr. and Elsie Decker Killian, and her brother, Gary Killian.

 Her life will be celebrated during a visitation on Monday October 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, located at 6175 St. Peter's Church Road, Conover, NC 28613. Pastor Peter Frank will officiate, and Rev. Sammy Jacobs will share the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

 Doris Loretta Killian Lail will be deeply missed, remembered for her kindness, her unwavering support for her loved ones, and the joy she brought into their lives. Her legacy of care and compassion will certainly endure in the hearts of those she touched.
