Doris S. Wilcox,

Doris Norton Wilcox, age 81, of Taylorsville passed away at her residence on Friday, July 20, 2012.  She was born on May 3, 1931 to the late Henry Ray and Nola Ruth Mcalpin Norton.  Mrs. Wilcox was a homemaker and retired from Lowe's Foods where she worked in the deli.  She loved working in the flowers and was a member of Berea Baptist Church.  Including her parents, she is preceded in death by two brother; Jerry and Dale Norton.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Larry Ray Wilcox of the home; two sons - Michael Smith and wife Gladys of Stony Point and Jimmy Smith and wife Elaine of Statesville; one daughter, Tammy Wilson and husband Ricky of Statesville; three sisters - Betty Sue Thomas of Taylorsville, Nell Caldwell and Martha Jane Cutlip of Maryland; three brothers - Bob Norton of Tennessee, Mack Norton of Stony Point and Barry Norton of Taylorsville; six grandchildren - Dana Russ, Jamie Davis, Jarred Smith and Justin, Kristen and Sarah Wilson; six great-grandchildren - Landon, Allie and Madie Russ, Brian Wilson, Devin Babbs and Riley Davis.  She also has other special grandchildren in her life.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm at Berea Baptist Church and Service will follow at 3:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Stony Point Baptist Cemetery.  Pastor Charles Cook will be officiating.  Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society @ 250 Williams Street, NW; Atlanta, GA  30303.
