Doyle Jackson of Granite Falls died All Saints' Day, 2015. He was the son of Glen Tower and Clara May Jackson of Miami, Texas.

Mr. Jackson enlisted in the US Marine Corps at the earliest allowable age, served an active tour of duty during the Korean War, and served may decades in the Marine Corps Reserve, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.

He retired from a career as a computer programmer with Lucent.

Mr. Jackson was an avid model railroad collector specializing in the steam locomotion era. He was also deeply interested in financial markets.

Surviving are his wife of forty-four years, Della Jackson, of the home; daughter Rebecca Jackson of Asheville, NC; daughter Jeanne Morse (Richard) of Laurinburg, NC; daughter Laurie Brown (Jack) of Kingsport, TN; and grandson Samuel Brown of Kingsport, TN.

The family would like to express particular gratitude to Hospice of Caldwell County for their unfailing care and support.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am at Alexander Funeral Service with the funeral following in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. Mark Morris will be officiating the service. Burial will take place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
