Dwight Lyman Marlowe, age 73 of Taylorsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on August 28. He was born in Wilkes County February 25, 1938. Dwight was the son of the late Freddie and Laura Estep Marlowe. Dwight was a member of Mt.HebronBaptistChurch. He was a furniture worker at Lewittes, Broyhill and ER Carpenter for 50 years. Dwight loved being outdoors; he loved hunting and fishing and one of his favorite pastimes was listening to bluegrass and boy could he keep a beat. He was a friend to all. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his four brothers Lee Marlow, Frank Marlow, Rev. Hoover Marlow, and James Marlowe and five sisters Rose Gwaltney, Esther Perdue, Faye Bostian and Carol Bunton. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years Helen Ann Marlowe, three daughters Laura Gant and husband Terry; Amy Curtiss and husband Terry; Rebecca Shumate and husband Roger. Four granddaughters: Stephanie Curtiss, Abby Robinette, Kailee and Macie Shumate. One brother-in-law; Michael White and wife Krista and a niece Chloe. Three sisters Annie Link of Statesville, Ruby Anderson of Wilkesboro and Marion Parlier and husband Jimmy of Stony Point as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Marlowe, will be held at Mt.HebronBaptistChurchon Tuesday, August 30 from 2:00 pm – 3:45 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 4:00 pm. Rev. Eddie Yount and Rev. Mike Barber will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Jerry Land, Tim Rector, Michael Bunton, Raymond Marlow, Donald Marlow, Johnny Link will serve as pallbearers.
