Earnest (Bud) Pinkney Teague, age 85, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Mr. Teague was born to the late Porter and Bessie Cline Teague on February 25, 1931, in Alexander County. Earnest was a lifelong cattle farmer. He grew poultry for Perdue Farms for 31 years. He loved caring for his animals, growing tobacco, and being outdoors. He was a quiet, humble man, who loved his family but also would help anyone in need. He was a faithful member of Stony Point Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Dezola Fox & Hazel Holzclaw; two brothers: Floyd & Willard Teague.
Mr. Teague leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Lackey Teague, a son Dennis Teague & wife Becky, two daughters: Carol Hines & husband Danny, Nancy Jolly & husband Craig; six grandchildren: Shaun Teague & wife Wendy, Sonya Herriman, Lisa Stikeleather & husband Jeremy, Angela Hines, Karla Merritt & husband Wesley, and Whitney Moose & husband Jason; ten great grandchildren: Dalton, Colby, & Chloe Herriman, Jacob Teague, Megan, Kelsie, & Noah Stikeleather, Abbie Hines and Alyssa Rainey; as well as many nieces and nephews to cherish his memories.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 2:00-3:30 at Stony Point Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4:00. The Rev. Phil Addison and Rev. Mitch King will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In the interim, the family will gather at the home of Nancy Jolly.
