Edna Ruth Jordan Millsaps, age 85, of Statesville, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, in Iredell Memo. Hospital. Born on May, 4, 1925 to the late Leonard Erastus and Kate Sprinkle Jordan in Iredell Co, she was an active member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where she had served in the church’s tape ministry, as a Sunday school teacher,  and Vacation Bible School . She was an employee of Sears in Statesville for thirty-eight years, before her retirement.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Jordan, and three sisters, Kathrine Emory, Elwanda Jordan and Eula Jordan.  Mrs. Millsaps is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, D. Ronald Millsaps, of the home, as well as one son, David J. Millsaps and wife Leslie of Greensboro. Edna has two grandchildren, Clay and Megan Millsaps of Greeensboro. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita Jordan of Statesville. There are a number of nieces and nephews surviving.  Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at 11:00 A.M.  at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, with the family receiving friends in the church’s fellowship hall during a lunch reception immediately following the graveside service. Rev Joey Campbell and Rev. Mark Robinette will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Lloyd Weatherman, Kent Jordan, Eric Millsaps, Jeffrey Johnson, Clay Millsaps and Josh Jordan. Memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 351 Millsaps Rd. Statesville, NC, 28625.  Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service in Taylorsville, is serving the Millsaps family.
