Edna Mae Hoffner Mahaley, age 93, formerly of Taylorsville, passed away in the Good Samaritan Retirement Home of Williston, FL on May 7, 2012. Born in Salisbury, NC to the late James Milton and Sarah (Lewis) Hoffner on September 7, 1918, she was of the Baptist faith and had previously worked at Canon Mills Cotton Industry, and was a retired Pharmacist Technician at Martin Memorial in Stuart, FL. Besides her parents, those preceding Mrs. Mahaley in death are her husband John Mahaley, one daughter Delores Ann Goodnight, as well as two brothers and four sisters. Those remaining to treasure her memories are two sons Jerry R. Goodnight and wife Martha of Taylorsville, and Norman C. Goodnight and wife Sandra of Chester, SC; One daughter Linda Kuczer of Williston, FL.; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. On Thursday, May 10, 2012 the family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the Scenic Memorial Gardens in Moravian Falls, NC. A Mausoleum Service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Gardens Chapel with Rev. Mark Robinette and Rev. Terry White officiating. Entombment will follow.
