Edna Bailey Deaton,

Edna Marie Bailey Deaton, age 86, of Taylorsville went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at her residence. Born April 20, 1927 to the late Willie M. Bailey and Elsie Crowley Beach. Edna was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and was active in all the programs when she was available. She loved to play the piano and enjoyed making wedding cakes for everyone. Edna was a loved mother and friend to all. She never meet a stranger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Fred Deaton, Sr.; four brothers and daughter: Palmer McAlister. Those left to cherish her memory include her son: Fred Deaton, II of the home; daughter: Diane Wilson of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Smyrna Baptist Church and service will begin at 2:30 pm with the Rev. Michael Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
