Elata Lois Patterson Webster, age 81, a beloved member of her community and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Carolina Caring in Catawba County. She was born on Saturday, November 13, 1943, in Iredell County.
Elata, along with her husband Ernest, was an industrious business owner of Ernest Webster Furniture Frames. Her work reflected her keen eye for quality and her commitment to craftsmanship, which she passionately pursued throughout her career.
Above all else, Elata cherished her family deeply. She was married to her husband, Ernest Webster Sr., for 62 beautiful years. Together they raised their children, Robin Webster Gant (John) and Ernest "Monnie" Webster Jr. (Rhonda Hall Henley), nurturing them with love and guidance. Her joy extended to her granddaughter, Courtney Willow Gant, who brought an added light to her life. She also leaves behind her brother, Thomas Patterson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Elata's warmth and kindness weren't confined to her immediate family; her love for all living beings extended to her furry companions. She had a special affection for her pets, particularly her dog Jenny, and the many cats that graced her home. This love for animals also manifested in her generous contributions to animal rescues, illustrating her compassionate spirit and dedication to the welfare of others.
In her personal life, Elata engaged in a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, activities that allowed her to express her creativity and nurture the beauty of her surroundings. Elata took immense pride in keeping a neat and clean home, creating a welcoming environment for her loved ones and friends.
Elata was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mary McCurdy Patterson, and her siblings, Danny, Jim, Ray Patterson, and Mary Jo Patterson.
