Finnie "Ellen" Bumgarner Willis, age 71, of Taylorsville, went home unexpectedly to be with her Savior on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 in her home. Ellen was born March 31st, 1940, daughter of the late Norris Bumgarner and Clara Robinette Bumgarner. As a homemaker, she baby-sitted Chloe Bumgarner (5), a great-niece, since her birth. After school, Cole Bumgarner (9) joined them for the afternoon. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Willis. Survivors include her special friend, Escar Childers of Taylorsville and Sylvia Willis Epley and husband Dennis of Connelly Springs. She is also survived by two brothers, Rowe Bumgarner and wife Faye, and James Bumgarner and wife Kay. One sister, Bonnie Chapman and husband Fred. Four nieces Roxanne Hoyle and husband Nelson; Angela Wooten and husband David; Renee Saner and husband Marvin; Anita Hudson and husband Mark. Three nephews Ernie Bumgarner and wife Karen; Mark Bumgarner and wife Donna; Jermy Bumgarner and wife Kristin. Also a host of great-nieces and great-nephews: Sara, Mara & Noah Hoyle; Justin & Joshua Wooten; Samantha & Chandler Bumgarner; Cole & Chloe Bumgarner; Kelsey & Jaxon Bumgarner; Michael & Chris Wagoner; & Lindsey Hudson. Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Monday, April 18th, 2011 from 6-8pm. Funeral Services for Ms. Willis will be held April 19th, 2011, at 4pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Phil Chapman will be officiating. Ms. Willis* nephews will serve as pallbearers.
