Elma McLeod Price,

Elma Lee McLeod Price, age 90, of the Ellendale Community, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Valley Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Richard Brown and  Ada Watts McLeod. Born on Saturday, December 6, 1924 in Alexander County. She was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She was affectionately known as "Mom" by everyone at church until she became unable to attend.  Elma was employed by the US Agriculture Department for 28 years. After she retired she was employed by Wal-Mart as a greeter. She absolutely loved talking to all the customers. Through her job at the Agriculture Department she knew almost every farmer and their children, many of whom shopped at Wal-Mart.

In addition to Elma's parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Joe Parks Price, son Rick Jefferson Price, four brothers; Bain, Paul, Ralph, & John, sister Nora Ellen Earnhardt, and granddaughter Caitlyn Price.

She leaves to carry on her legacy her two sons; Steve Price and wife Karen of Bethlehem, Gene Price and wife Sandy of Drumstand, daughter-n- law Sandy Price of Hickory, grandchildren; Joey Price and wife Anita, Brooke Santillan, Chad Chapman and wife Theresa, Parks Price, Erin Kilby and husband Ricky, Colby Chapman and wife Kaley, Cary Price, Eric Price, eight great grandchildren, special friend Fenway, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Mt. Herman Baptist Church from 6:30-8:30 pm. The funeral service will also be held at Mt. Herman Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Paul Shronce, Rev. Chris Meade, and Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate. Burial will take place in the Church cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Mt.
