Elsie Killian, age 83, of Conover passed away at Catawba Valley Medical Center on Saturday, July 11, 2015. She was born on Saturday, December 26, 1931 to the late Claude Hillard and Mamie Iona Minton Decker in Rhodhiss, NC. Elsie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents Elsie was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Leonard Killian Sr., three sisters Lou Savage, Irene Chester, Shelby Minton, three brothers Hillard, Floyd, Jones Decker, and a grandson Kenneth Killian.
Elsie leaves to cherish her memory four daughters Doris Lail and husband John, Karen Smith & her late husband Cline, both of Conover, Patricia Killian, of Taylorsville, Jeanie Duckworth, of Hickory, three sons Gary Killian,of Mocksville, Donald Killian Jr. and wife Roxanne, Kelly Killian and wife Rosalie, of Conover, sister Aileen Carver, of Rhodhiss, grandchildren Leslie, Gary Jr., Cody, Anthony, Goldie Killian, Chris, Jessica Smith, DeAnn Barnes, Joe Evans, Erica Todd, Chelsea Maness, Jordan Carson, great grandchildren Christine & Trey Killian, Elizabeth & Anna Barus, Gunner Smith, Lyric, Lydia, Eleanor Todd, Isaiah & Aidan Evans, a special companion Carroll E. Yoder, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 1:30-3:00 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Graig Shultz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary attendants will be Quilting Guild at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
