Elsie Laws Smith, 87, of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Valley Nursing Center. She was born March 3, 1928 to the late Arney Cox and Pearlie Mae Rice in Wilkes County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Louis Monroe Smith and her two sons; David Triplett and Gerald Triplett. Elsie is survived by her grandson Ian Triplett, granddaughters; Monica Triplett Stout & Tia Triplett, two daughter in laws; Connie Nance Triplett & Shelia Haneline Triplett, sister Ella Mae Jones, three great grandchildren; Chryslynn, Kellun, & London Ann Triplett.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Marcus Benfield officiating. Burial will take place in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
