Emma Lee Martin

November 25, 1930 — April 14, 2020

Emma Lee Byrd Martin, age 89 of Stony Point passed away on April 14, 2020. Born to the late Lee Adam and Nancy Curley Byrd of Cabarrus County. Emma was a homemaker, and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Emma enjoyed gardening, and raising green beans. Emma will be remembered as one that took care of everyone, especially her late husband George Martin.
In addition to her parents Emma was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-two years, George Martin, a brother George Byrd and sister Hazel Campbell.
Those left to cherish the memories of Emma include two daughters that will always remember their mom, Nancy “Diane” Hammer (Jerry) and Angie Lail (Robbie), both of Stony Point. Mrs. Martin has five grandchildren, Pastor Wesley Hammer and wife Paige, of Taylorsville, Tracy Hammer, of Stony Point, Jordan Lail and wife Heather, Adam Lail and wife Nicole, all of Statesville, and Mykah Johnson and husband, Scott, of Stony Point. There are five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Landon, Luke Hammer, Paxton, Lincoln Lail and one great-great- grandchild, Beckett Hammer. One sister Nancy Mash and husband Ralph, of Statesville. Along with a number of nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service for Mrs. Martin will be held Friday, April 17, 2020 at the new Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 90. Rev. Wesley Hammer and Rev. Bradley Anderson will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 191 Sipe Rd. Taylorsville, NC. 28681.
