Eugene Deal,

Eugene Deal, age 75, of Hwy 16 N of Taylorsville, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, July 8th, 2010 at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley following a brief illness.  He was born on August 30, 1934 in Alexander County to parents Milas Carl and Velsie Sloop Deal.  He served in the US Army from 1957 – 1959.  He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Garland Deal and also 2 infant brothers.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Yvonne Icenhour Deal of the home; sons: Richard Eugene Deal and wife Julie of Bethlehem, and Randy Leon Deal of Jesup, GA. Also surviving Eugene is his daughter, Tammy Marie Shell Deal and husband Michael of Taylorsville; 4 grandchildren: AOAN Cameron Deal and Gavin Deal – both of the US Navy, Wesley Shell and Kristen Shell and many more special friends including Bro. Dale Mellon.  Visitation will be on Saturday, July 10th at Calvary Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, July 11th at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church where Steve Dagenhart, Dale Mellon, and Wesley Shell will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Catawba Valley at: 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton 28658.  Condolences may be sent to the Deal family at www.alexfuneralservice.com .  The family of Eugene Deal will gather at the sons residence at 1643 Teague Town Rd in Taylorsville.  Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
