Eugene Ivory Redmond

Eugene Ivory Redmond, age 88 of Stony Point, NC. Passed away on Saturday May 11, 2019 at Valley Medical Center in Taylorsville NC. after a period of declining health. Born to the late William and Lavinia Redmond. He served in the US Army and was of the Baptist faith. Eugene enjoyed fishing, attending gospel concerts and loved the activities at Valley Nursing Center.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Redmond was preceded in death by his wife Inez Helton Redmond, brother Dean Redmond of Maryland, sister Brenda Redmond of Statesville, niece Terry Bast of Florida, stepson Allen Pennell, stepdaughter Brenda Ford and step-grandson Daniel Sterling.
Survivors include brother James Redmond and wife Kay of Statesville, sister Joyce Lambert and husband Jeff of Statesville, daughter Barbara Redmond Gaskin and husband Joey of Stony Point, stepdaughters Davanna “Kay” Moore and husband Tim of Stony Point, Marla Crane of Granite Falls and Mary Reavis of Stony Point. Loved ones include two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren, thirty-two step-great-grandchildren and six step-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday May 16, 2019 at Alexander Funeral Service at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. With the Rev. Mark Sharpe officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial park, 2017 Wilkesboro Blvd. NE., Lenoir, NC. 28645
