Evelina Kerley Yow,

Evelina Kerley Yow, 79, of Taylorsvillepassed away on Sunday, April 17 in her home.   She was born in AlexanderCountyon March 22, 1932 to the late R.D. Kerley and Lundia Blankenship Kerley. Evelina retired after serving some 50 years as a seamstress from the Furniture Industry.  As a lifelong faithful member of White PlainsBaptistChurch, she loved to sing in the choir.  She had also been a Sunday school teacher, and was involved in the American Cancer Society. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons; Randy L. Yow and wife Sherrie, Ronnie A. Yow and wife Lisa, all of Taylorsville.  A foster daughter, Sandra Von Eschen of Concord.  Grand-children are William Lucas Yow of Gastonia, Brynnan Lackey of Taylorsville.  Step-grandchildren are Bucky L. Baker, Dustin Barnes both of Taylorsville, and Carrie Baker of Wilkesboro.  Foster Grandchildren are Rachel Fogle of Charlotte, Benjamin MacFarlane and wife Callie of Concord.  Great Grandchildren are Makenna Lynn yow of Gastonia. Step-great grandchildren are Kalyn, Karli, and Bree Graybeal all of Wilkesboro, and Emma Baker of Hickory.  Sisters include Geraldine Kerley Tedder, Alta Mae Kerley Jenkins of Taylorsville.  One Brother Carl Kerley and wife Marilyn (Boots) of Stony Point. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Yow and one infant daughter. Funeral Services for Mrs. Yow will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 4 pm at White PlainsBaptistChurchwith Rev. Tony Daniels and Rev. Billy Orren officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 2:30pm. Memorials may be forwarded to White PlainsBaptistChurchat 2901 E.
