Evelyn Lucille Lucas Eaton

Evelyn Lucille Lucas Eaton, age 67, born on Wednesday, April 10, 1957, in Caldwell County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her deep love for her family and her warm, nurturing spirit.

During her working career, Evelyn dedicated her time and compassion to the Conover Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where she provided those in need. Her commitment to helping others was evident in all aspects of her life.

Evelyn found joy in life's simple pleasures, including cooking, shopping, dancing, and watching movies, particularly those on Lifetime, which brought her much happiness. These hobbies illustrated her vibrant personality and her ability to find joy in both the simplest moments of life.

Evelyn leaves behind her husband of 22 years, David Eaton. She is also survived by her devoted children: Loraine Eckard (Mark), Thomas Lee Ashe (Shanna), and Kimberly Stewart (Allen). Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Clay Eckard, Tanner Eckard, and Rebecca Steward, who were the light of her life.

She is remembered fondly by her brothers Danny Lucas and Paul Lucas, and her sister Helen Shook, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her parents, Paul Lewis Lucas and Helen Christine Craig Lucas, as well as her brother Roger Lucas, her sister Barbara Ewart, and two infant daughters.

No services are planned at this time.

Her loving spirit and the joy she brought to those around her will never be forgotten. Evelyn will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
