Evelyn Marie Harrington-Mullis

Evelyn Marie Harrington Mullis, age 88, of Taylorsville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her residence. Evelyn was born on May 3, 1928 to the late Fred Eugene and Beulah Queen Harrington in Alexander County. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed sewing and gardening. She loved God and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Evan Mullis; brother, Raymond Harrington & wife Bernice; and half sister, Daphne Bowman.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory children, Dwight Harrington & wife Dorothy, Kenny Harrington & wife Sylvia, Shelley Mullis, Barry Mullis & wife Sandy, and Debbie Harrington & husband Nicky; brothers, Elbert & Shirley Harrington and Robert Harrington & the late Betty; sisters, Ellen Childers & the late Ray Childers and Suma Davidson & and the late Blake; grandchildren, Douglas & Beth Harrington, Crystal Barlow, Tabitha & David Goforth, Misty & AJ Elder, Ryan Mullis & fiancé Jessica Edwards, Matthew & Cassie Mullis, Christy Harrington, and Ashley Harrington; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great great grandchildren. A special thanks to Ellen Childers, Suma Davidson, Elbert Harrington, Robert Harrington, and Crystal Barlow for the love and care they gave to Evelyn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the funeral following at 6:00 pm. The Pastor Chris Goforth and Rev. Don Ingle will be officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include: Logan Elder, David Goforth, Monty Harrington, Matthew Mullis, Ryan Mullis, and Brett Watson.
