Evelyn Marie Munday Hines

September 29, 1941 — June 29, 2024

Evelyn Marie Munday Hines, age 82, born on Monday, September 29, 1941, in Caldwell County, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Forsyth County, has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. 

Evelyn's life was characterized by her unwavering faith, devotion to her family, and passion for helping others. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to caring for individuals both as an employee at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and as a skilled seamstress through her own alterations and sewing business. Her commitment to serving others extended beyond the workplace as she actively participated in community events such as Vacation Bible School and generously offered her time to her church. Evelyn was a member of the Taylorsville Church of God.

Those closest to Evelyn remember her as someone who exuded warmth and kindness. She had a natural talent for crafting and found joy in creating beautiful pieces with her hands. However, it was her love for her family that truly defined her. Evelyn cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating priceless memories that will be cherished forever.

Evelyn is now reunited with her parents Charles Carson Munday and Eunice Bentley Munday, husband Richard Hines, son Terry Lee Hines, granddaughter Courtney Ellen Hines, brother Charles JC Munday, sisters Mary Herman and Shirley Reid.

Those left to cherish the memories of Evelyn include her sons Richard Hines Jr., Timothy Hines (Sharon), Tim Brown (Teresa); daughter Tiffany Billey (Eric); sister Charlene Townsend; grandchildren Dusty Lee Hines (Leah), Elijah Smith, Ariana Smith, Sadie Billey, Amanda Mecimore; and great-grandson Hayden Gray Hines who is expected soon. Additionally, Evelyn leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends whose lives were touched by her presence.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, at Hiddenite Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Pastor Mark Albertino will officiate.

In celebrating Evelyn's life, let us remember not only the loss we feel but also the light she brought into the world through her selflessness and love. Her legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life's journey.
