Floyd Eugene “Gene” Watts, age 62, of Taylorsville, passed away in Palliative Care and Hospice of Catawba Co. on Friday, April 8th, 2011, following a brief illness. He was born in Gaston Co. N.C. to the late John Earnest Watts and Doris Thomas Watts. He was employed in the textile industry with J.P. Stevens, Joan Fabrics, and Schneider Mills. He was also with Tyson Foods. He was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA and VFW. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Misty Watts Daugherty and husband, Dane, and one son, Joshua John Earnest Watts and wife April, all of Hildebran. He has four grandchildren, Casey Watts, Zachary Dillard, Kylie Dillard, and Maggie Watts, all of Hildebran. Two brothers, Randy Watts and wife Faye of North Brookfield, Mich. And James Watts and wife Pat of Taylorsville. Two sisters, Phyllis Julian of Taylorsville, and Teresa Duncan and husband Arthur of Taylorsville. He has a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He had a best friend, Larry Milburn of Maiden. He will be missed by man’s best friend, Rocky. Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2011, from 1:30-3:00p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service with funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Arthur Duncan officiating.
