Gene Claxton Davis,

Gene Claxton Davis, age 66 of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly at his home Saturday, December 29. Born March 27, 1946 to the late Cliance Malloy and Hettie Lee (Reeves) Davis, he was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict.  Gene was a carpenter by trade and was of the Baptist faith. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Ammons Davis, as well as three brothers; Faddis Davis, Stafford Davis, and Benton Davis. Those remaining to cherish his memories are three sisters;  Judy D. Cannady and Marie D. Colgan both of Fayetteville, NC; and Kathleen D. Kozlowski of Taylorsville.  One son; Glenn Ammons and wife Debbie; and two grandchildren; Ryan and Maegan Ammons all of Taylorsville.
The family will receive friends at Alexander Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 12 noon until 12:45 pm.  with the Funeral Services to begin at 1:00 pm.  Rev. Gary Jennings will officiate. Burial will be held at the Bethel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Lenoir, following the service.
