George Holland Fox

George Holland Fox, age 77, of Mt. Gilead NC, formerly of Hiddenite, passed away in Stanley Manor, Albermarle, NC on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016. Born in Wilkes County, to the late Thomas Lee and Maude Ella Bumgarner Fox, on March 29, 1939, he was a professional tour bus and truck driver, having driven many of the college and minor league teams on the east coast.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Reynolds Fox of the home as well as his children Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lee Fox, of Summerville, SC. Donna Louise Mills and Georgia Annette Sexton and husband Wade, both of Myrtle Beach. He has two step children, Dennis Batten, of Troy and Donna Batten, of Greensboro, NC. He is survived by two sisters, Mima Jean Marshall and husband Lynn, of Taylorsville and Margaret Pennell Little and husband Randy, of Hiddenite. His brother Wade Fox and wife Karen, of Tayorsville also survive. Grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Caleb, Noel, Crystal, Amanda and Anthony will remember their grandfather. There are a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside committal services will be held at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiddenite at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016. Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate.
