Georgia Oaks Mast,

Georgia Oaks Mast, age 80, of the Bethlehem community, passed away at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley on May 30, 2012.  She was born August 11, 1931 to the late Sylvester and Maude Johnson Oaks.  She was a sitter in the health care field and attended Wayside Baptist Church.  She was an avid listener to WACB Swap Shop and loved to watch daytime television.  She also enjoyed cooking, flowers and her grandchildren.  She loved her dogs, Gizmo and Daisy, they were her best friends.  Including her parents, those that precede her in death include one brother, Bobby Oaks and two sisters; Peggy Parker and Mary Hatch.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 46 years, James Patterson Mast of the home; one son, Wilson and wife Melanie Phelps of Taylorsville, NC; three daughters, Nancy Mast Powell and Sandra Mast Shepherd of Taylorsville, NC; and Tamara Mast Dew and husband Grady of Hickory, NC.  Two brothers; Jackie Oaks of Asheville, NC and Bud Oaks of Mooresboro, NC.  Three sisters; Virginia Peters of Johnson City, TN, Clara Smith of Lenoir, NC and Norma Ogle of Gardenia, CA.  Five grandchildren; Graham W. Phelps, James David Mast, William Brandon Frye, Jesse Ray Kelley and Jason Christopher Kelley and eight great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and Service will be held at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Friendship Community Cemetery.  Rev.
