Mrs. Gladys Cordellia Campbell Boutwell, age 89, of Winston-Salem, NC, entered into the presence of her Lord from Brookridge Nursing Home on Saturday, May 05, 2012. Born Sept. 9, 1922, to the late Glen Clovis and Fronie Elizebeth Ward Campbell, in Marietta, Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith. She had followed her late husband’s careers and had been a part of several Southern Baptist Congregations over the years. Her husband, of 62 years, Dr. Charles Rodney Boutwell preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one son Paul Boutwell, as well as four siblings. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 17:15, “As for me, I will see your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness.” Mrs. Boutwell is survived by her daughter, Lori Bynes and husband, Sandy of Nashville, TN; two sons, Phillip Boutwell and wife Sue, of Winston Salem, NC and Rodney Boutwell and wife Sylvia of Taylorsville, NC. There are four grandchildren; Donna Ratliff, of Amherst, VA; John Boutwell, of Matthews, NC; Laura Boutwell, of Boston, Mass. and Carrie Bonner, of Winston-Salem, NC. She also had ten great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC in the Chapel of the Mausoleum at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, with burial immediately following. Chaplain Ray Benfield of the Baptist Homes will officiate. The family will receive immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Baptist Retirement Homes benevolence fund, 1199 Hayes Forest Drive, Winston-Salem, NC, 27106. Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service in Taylorsville, has been entrusted with Mrs. Boutwell’s arrangements.
