Glenda Ellen Rogers, age 75, of Winston-Salem passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born in Alexander County on April 24, 1938 to the late Dr. Minter and Ruby (Cavin) Rogers. She worked as a Technician for ATT in Winston-Salem for 51 years and loved her occupation, she only worked as a hobby. Glenda was of the Baptist Faith and an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles. At Christmas time for her family, she loved to make cookies, chocolate balls and chex mix. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Mervyn, Clyde and Willard Rogers. Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces: Marlene Scott and husband Randy and Darlene Handy and husband James, both of Taylorsville; and nephews: Randy Rogers and wife Dolores and Jeff Rogers of Alberquerque, New Mexico.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm at Alexander Funeral Service and Service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Little River Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be James Handy, Eric Rogers, Terry Cavin, Robert Cavin, Andrew Scott and Tyler Scott.
