Glenn Leroy "PeeWee" Frye, age 73, of the Bethlehem Community, Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his residence after a period of failing health. Born on Sept. 13, 1940 to the late Alvin Ray and Willie Lee Bowman Frye in Alexander Co., he was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church in Taylorsville. Mr. Frye, was employed by Southwood Reproductions and Hancock and Moore, in furniture manufacturing before his retirement. PeeWee was an avid sports fan and was a league bowler for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball, as well as playing church league softball, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Glenn was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joann R. Frye and brother, L. Kenneth Frye. He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Frye of the home, as well as a daughter Pam Cook and husband Jimmy of Taylorsville. One son, Bradley Frye and wife Courtney of Bethlehem. Step children, Donna Swanner Simmons and Russell Swanner. Glenn has four sisters: Mildred Weaver, Jolene Fox, Lorette Starnes, and Carlene Huffman and husband, Connelly. One brother, Gary Frye and wife, Patsy. Grandchildren, are, Trevor and Justin Cook, as well as step grandchildren, Courtney Jimenez, Michael Simmons, Rylan and Christa Swanner and Leah Hawk.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, April 21, 2014 at Friendship Lutheran Church, from 6-8:00 p.m. with Funeral Services on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Friendship Lutheran. The Rev. Phil Thorsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trevor and Justin Cook, Russell Swanner, Alan Fox, Shannon Pennell, and Wayne Morrow and Frank Schmitz. Military rites will be provided by DAV Chapter 84 of Taylorsville and Chapter 6 of Hudson.
