Grover Dean Walsh, age 53, of Taylorsville, passed away in Frye Regional Medical Ctr. on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011. Born in Watauga County, Oct. 19, 1957, to the late Johnny Herbert and Verla Mae Watson Walsh, he was of the Baptist Faith. His working life was spent in the furniture industry, working for Ideal Frame, NuMode, Clayton-Marcus and Mitchell frame. He was an avid collector of Indian artifacts and enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Gloria Jean Petrea and Sarah Louise Petrea as well as two nephews: Johnny Chris Nelson and William Charles Price. He is survived by one brother, Gary Lee Walsh of Lenoir, and three sisters: Dorothy Walsh Holsclaw of Granite Falls, Linda Bare of Taylorsville, and Brenda Kay Medley of West Jefferson. One uncle, Eddie Watson of Claremont, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 in the chapel of Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service with the Rev. Danny Loudermilk Officiating.
