Harold Isaacs Greene

Harold Isaacs Greene, age 87, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. Born on Wednesday, January 12, 1938, in Caldwell County, Harold lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his love for family and the unforgettable memories he crafted with them.

A proud veteran, Harold served his country in The United States Navy, a chapter in his life that instilled in him the values of service and commitment. He brought his dedication and discipline to all aspects of his life, touching the lives of those around him.

Harold had a range of interests that reflected his love for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed going fishing and had a profound passion for old cars, being an active member of the Apple City Street Rodders. His gardening skills were exceptional, and he delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends, filling their lives with the bounty he nurtured with his own hands.

His legacy lives on through his loving family, which includes his children Timothy Allen Greene (Sara Sturgill), Michael Anthony Greene, and Michelle Greene. Harold was the proud grandfather of Katie Curtis (Joey), Stephen Caldwell, Seth Greene (Reyna), Sheena Luna (Jon), and Justin Greene (Erica), and he adored his great-grandchildren Macie Greene, Tate Greene, Paisley Greene, Lilly Curtis, LeAnn Curtis, Shon Luna, and Sadie Anderson, sister, Carolyn Burress (Hugh). In addition, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry his memory forward.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Vernith and Della Wheeling Greene, his son Rodney Lee Greene, his grandson John Luna III, and eight siblings.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be at 92 15th Ave NW, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Rev. Mark Sharpe will officiate. Military rites will be provided.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be mad to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Harold’s spirit and warmth will forever be remembered by all who knew him, and his love for family will continue to resonate throughout generations to come.
