Harvey Lee Turner, age 79, of Statesville went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Brian Center in Statesville. He came into this world on May 6, 1937 in Rowan County to the late William G. and Berchie Little Turner. Harvey was educated at R.A. Clement High School in Rowan County and was retired from the Upholstery Business in Brooklyn, NY. He loved life, traveling, music, and spending time with his family. He loved the Lord and loved going to church. Harvey was a member at New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Woodleaf, NC. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sons: Floyd Turner & Christopher G. Turner; daughter Sharon Turner Coleman; brother: Charles Turner and a sister: Gracie Turner Privette. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters: Karen Turner and Brynda Turner-Hughes of Florida; his brother: Willie Joe Turner(Dorothy) from Woodleaf, NC; his sisters: Saddie Clark(Clarence) from Advance, NC & Adrian H. Turner from New York; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with a numerous number of nieces and nephews.
The wake for Mr. Turner will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Woodleaf, NC and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Willie Joe Grey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
