Hayward Bowman,

Hayward Edward Bowman, age 87, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. He was born on Monday, July 9, 1928 to the late Clyde Bryson and Bessie Frye Bowman in Alexander County. Hayward loved farming and just being outdoors. No one worked harder than Hayward, he could always be found on his tractor. He really enjoyed dancing and listening to bluegrass.

In addition to his parents Hayward was preceded in death by five brothers; Billy, RZ, Mack, Gene, and Frank Bowman.

Hayward is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Louise Bolick Bowman, four daughters; Louise Fox and husband Harold, Louetta Eckard and husband David, Lou Eva Deal and husband Gregg, Jerri McNiel and husband Curtis, brother Leon Bowman and wife Brenda, sister Carolyn Fox and husband Ray, three sister-in-laws Betty, Patricia, & Leola Bowman, grandchildren; Bryan McNiel, Gina Friedhoff, Tina Hertzler, Wesley Deal, Wesley Hollar, Lisa Fox, Steven Deal, Josh Hollar, Timothy Eckard, Ethan Eckard, twenty one great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Visitation is Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 pm at East Taylorsville Baptist Church. A memorial service celebrating Hayward's life will follow at 6:00 pm. The family requests that memorials be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658
