Henry Alex "HA" White, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Taylorsville House. He was born on Sunday, December 26, 1926 to the late Jenner Ferch and Matilda Jane Brown White. He was a US Army veteran retired following 21 years of service. Mr. White having served in Europe, South Pacific, Japan, and Korea. Mr. White was chapter 84 and Hudson 6. He was active in marking veterans graves during the holiday seasons. He was also the caretaker of the Land's Family cemetery and the Poplar Springs Baptist cemetery for many years. He was an avid gardener and shared the bounty with all of his friends and neighbors, to whom he was always lending a helping hand.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth Shook, two sisters Leah Barnes and Bura Williams, and two brothers Floyd and Turner White.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years Margie Hines White, one sister Nina Absher, five children Ronnie and wife Rose Brown, Connie Brown and wife Sharon, Karen and husband William Florence, Craig Brown, Kevin Brown, one son in law Eugene Shook. He also had twenty one grandchildren Lori Winkler, Gina Deal, Tommy Shook, Charles Shook, Johnny, Patti, Stella, Donnie, Greg, Shane, Dawn, Jennifer, Alex, Daniel, Tiffany and Anne Brown, Selena Barnes, Bill Florence, Mark Prichard, Pauline Stevens, and Anthony Florence. He also had a long time best friend Ralph Herman.
Visitation will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 pm and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Rick Safriet, Rev. Paul Allen Fox, and Rev. Neil Walker will officiate. Pall bearers will be Daniel, Brandon, and Wesley Bumgarner, Jeremy Fortner, Jason Safriet, and Dallas Campbell. Henry will have full military rights
