Herbert Henry Tucker, Jr., age 75, of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 25, 1942 in Ticonderoga, NY to the late Herbert Henry Tucker, Sr. and Ethel DeLong Tucker. Herbert worked in accounting at Custom Creations for several years. He also worked for defunct KTI in Cuba, NY in research, was the on call “snake man” for Olean General Hospital. He was a herpetologist and loved to teach about science. Herbert was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved the Lord with all his heart and brought his kids up the same way. Herbert was a deacon and treasurer for Myrtle Gospel Tabernacle where he played both the saxophone and clarinet in the worship band. He was an accomplished musician and passed not only his love for music but also his talent to his children, teaching them to play. Herbert loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant sister Caroline Tucker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 14 years Mary Tucker; brother Rick Tucker and wife Nancy; children Scott Tucker and wife Shelley, Tracie Ratanasin and husband Nicholas, Andrea Rodriguez and husband Anthony, Jami Blackchief and husband Darryl, Nathaniel Tucker and wife Beth; Joshua Tucker and wife Samantha, and William Hackenberg Tucker; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.
There are no formal funeral arrangements planned at this time. Inurnment will be with the family. There will be a memorial service at a later time in the home area of New York.
