Hilda Bentley Bumgarner,

Hilda Marie Bentley Bumgarner, age 85, of Taylorsville passed away on August 30, 2012 at her residence.  She was born on August 16, 1927 to the late Effie Arlene Bentley Crawford Benfield.  She was retired from Clayton-Marcus and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.  She loved quilting, gardening, sewing and loved working in her flower garden.  Mrs. Bumgarner will be longed remembered for her caring heart, her compassion towards others and especially her love for her family.  In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her step-father - Daughton "Daught" Crawford; two sons - Harvey Eugene and Douglas Scott Bumgarner and one infant son - William Harvey Bumgarner.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William "Bill" Harvey Bumgarner, of Bell, California; one son -Jason Bumgarner of the home; two daughters - Nancy "Billie" Presnell and Melissa "Tia" Mitchell and husband Benny, all of Taylorsville; a daughter-in-law: Savonda Bumgarner; Four grandsons - Garrett Hefner, Justin and Jordan Mitchell, of Taylorsville and Matthew Bumgarner of Salisbury; One great-granddaughter - Kayla Hefner, of Taylorsville; Two step-daughters - Stacey Medina, of California and Lou Bumgarner, of Arkansas.  She also had a special niece - Carole Watts and a special neighbor - Nora Isaac, both of Taylorsville.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm at Lebanon Baptist Church and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow at 4:00 pm.  Rev. Jimmy Watts and Rev. Eddie Jolly will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Alexander County @ 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC  28681.
