Hubert Partin,

Hubert Partin, age 83, of Taylorsville, passed away at PalliativeCareCenterand Hospice of Catawba Valley on Tuesday evening, October 4th, 2011.  Hubert was born on May 21st, 1928 in Cheona, Kentucky to parents Thomas James and Bammie Webb Partin.  He was a member of Oxford Memorial Baptist Church.  He enjoyed farming and was the owner and operator of Blue Ridge Oil Company.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 sons: Charles “Ricky” and Sylvester Partin; his sister, Othella Partin; and 3 brothers: Tee, Melburn, and Elmer Partin.  Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Poarch Partin of the home; 1 son, Anthony Brent Partin of Taylorsville; their daughter, Sylvia Partin of Black Mountain; 1 sister, Sylvia Donald of Virginia Beach; granddaughter, Jessica Farley of Hickory; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  The Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, October 8th at Oxford Memorial Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. where Rev. Neal Walker and Rev. Tom Walker will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Baptist Cemetery.  Ron Clark, Jody Donald, Tommy Donald, Pete Hannis, Dennis Pennell, and Dwight Taylor will serve as pallbearers.  In addition to flowers, the Partin family requests that memorials be made in memory of Hubert to Hospice of Catawba Valley @ 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton, NC  28658.  Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
