Hugh William Barnes

Hugh William Barnes, age 74, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at his residence in Caldwell County. He was born to the late Thomas Glenn Barnes and Selma Oxford Barnes on April 24, 1948. Mr. Barnes was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir where he served as a deacon. Hugh enjoyed doing genealogy research. He loved his dogs.

Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan Burks.

Those left to cherish the memories of Hugh include his daughter, Autumne Burks (Todd), sister, Glenda Shew (Jimmy), grandsons, Nathan Burks and Jeremy Burks, and niece, Delena Sharpe (Chad).

A visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at Alexander Funeral Service from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel Friday, December 16, 2022, at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Earl Davis will officiate.
