J.C. Winebarger,

J.C. Winebarger, age 70, of Conover, passed away on Saturday, August 6th, 2011 at his home.  He was born in Catawba County on April 21st, 1941 to parents Robert Guy and Willie Smith Winebarger.  J.C. was a lifelong member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed salt-water fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Richard Winebarger; and his granddaughter, Megan Nicole Winebarger.  Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Ann Cogger Winebarger of the home; their 2 sons: Shawn Curtis Winebarger and wife Deby, and Justin Craig Winebarger – both of Conover.  He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren: Jessica LeAnn Winebarger and Jaylen Craig Winebarger.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Conover from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be at 4:00 at the church where Rev. Paul Birner and Rev. Matthew Schilling will be officiating.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.  In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Valley Hospice @ 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton, 28658; or to St. Peters Lutheran Church Helping Hands Fund @ 6175 St. Peters Church Rd. Conover, 28613.   Alexander Funeral Service of Taylorsville has been entrusted with arrangements.
