Jake Little,

Jake Little, age 90, of Taylorsville passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Valley Nursing Center. Born in Alexander County on June 24, 1923 to the late Walter and Amanda (Leppard) Little, Jake was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a long-time employee of the Town of Taylorsville in the Public Works Department. He also owned and operated Little's Plumbing for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife: Pearlie Mary (Millsaps) Little; brothers: James, Frank and Charles Little; and sisters: Annie Mae Little and Rochelle Williams. Survivors include his son: William Thurston Little of Wilkesboro; sister: Lillian Hardy of Statesville; half-sister: Edna Barber of North Wilkesboro; daughter in-law: Patricia Little of Taylorsville; grandchildren: Maria Little of Taylorsville, Brian Little of Kernersville, Adrian James of Louisville, KY, William Little, Jr. of Newton and Jennifer Bernard of Garner; and great-grandchildren: Thorne, Thaddeus and Kennan Little all of Maiden, Kennedy Little of Kernersville, Nyah Bernard of Garner and Kenyatta Brown of South Haven, MS.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
