JAMES ALAN BUMGARNER “AL”, 62, of Taylorsville, passed away on Saturday morning, October 23, 2010 in Hickory. He was born May 4, 1948 in Iredell County to James “Tump” Bumgarner and Jacqueline Jolly Bumgarner. As a bookkeeper, he was employed for a number of years by Trio Supermarket until their closing. Al was an avid NASCAR fan, and followed the career of Dale Earnhardt. Those left to treasure his memories are his mother, Jackie Bumgarner of Taylorsville; one daughter, Monica Able, and husband, Ken; one grandchild, Benjamin Able all of Charlotte; one sister, Louanne Fitzgerald and husband Dwight of Bethlehem; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Those preceding him in death are in his father, James Horace “Tump” Bumgarner; one sister Carol “Tina” Salter and two brothers Mack Bumgarner and Bill Bumgarner. Visitation for Mr. Bumgarner will be held Monday, October 25, 2010, from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at Little River Baptist Church with the Funeral Service directly following in the church with the Pastors Jeff Chapman and Mark Robinette officiating. Thereafter, he will be laid to rest in the Little River Baptist Cemetery. Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements of the Bumgarner family.
